The Varsity football team fell to 1-1 on the season, dropping to the host Martin Clippers on Friday night by a score of 44-14. The Wildcats played tough the first half, heading into the halftime break down just six points 20-14. Quarterback Cale Hackenberg connected with Matt Lehew from 3 yards out for a touchdown with 5 seconds remaining in the 2nd quarter to pull within a score heading into the locker room. Hackenberg also rushed for a 9 yard touchdown midway through the 2nd quarter touchdown. The second half was all Martin. Marcellus was able to move the ball consistently down the field but couldn't find the endzone in the second half. Marcellus will be back at home this Friday night as they take on the Gobles Tigers at 7pm. Friday night is also Rocket Football night. All rocket football players and cheerleaders and one parent will receive free entry to the game as long as they are wearing their jersey/uniform!
